    The Corporate Training Manager will collaborate across the organization to evaluate, develop, and deliver, sales training programs for employees. This role will be responsible for teaching our employees all the areas needed to succeed at Velocity including industry knowledge, product knowledge, technology tools, business communication skills, sales processes and methodology, such as 30-60-90-day sales curriculum and new hire onboarding. This role will own the design and delivery of training and organizational development (T&OD) curriculum through a combination of on-demand, live, on-the-job training, and certification programs.


    To perform this job successfully, a qualified individual must be able to satisfactorily perform the following essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation: 


    • Deliver Velocity onboarding and ongoing training, partnering with Leadership on collateral and curriculum.
    • Define, measure and apply consistent data-driven training metrics to achieve company objectives, such as time to achieve quota and % quota achieved.
    • Audit and maintain all training content, guidelines, and curriculum needed to support the above programs; build out of a learning management system.
    • Regularly assess sales training needs by observing individual performance/behaviors and collaborating with appropriate cross-functional area(s).
    • Continuously improve our program with up-to-date best practices in sales training and enablement, such as certification and contests. Proactively consider and identify new strategies, tactics and vendors to raise the level of the team’s thinking and performance.
    • Collaborate with sales and marketing to develop quality sales collateral and templates (case studies, sales deck, info sheets, etc) available for Sales and Operations Representatives so they can find and utilize the right content at the right time.
    • Partner with Sales and Operations Leadership to work 1:1 with reps for ongoing coaching and development (e.g. call reviews) to demonstrate successful learning and on-the-job application.
    • Partner with Customer Sales and Operations to ensure successful adoption of sales processes and technologies in a fast-changing environment, along with the measurement of results.
    • Lead efforts for internal training needs within the company as appropriate.
    • Deliver annual required training to all employees such as Sensitivity and Harassment Training, Policy updates, etc.
    • Partner with Human Resources to support recruiting activity as needed.

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required.



    • 4+ years of experience working as a sales trainer in freight sales is required.
    • Demonstrated success training inside sales professionals in various sales methodologies.
    • Highly process oriented, with the ability to create and document programs that scale.
    • Experience working cross-functionally to analyze needs and leveraging subject matter experts to develop to those needs.
    • Highly experienced with different training modalities, including on-demand, classroom, virtual, and video training.
    • Proven track record of exceptional project management and change management skills; Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects and tasks.



    • Ability to excel in a dynamic work environment as an early member of a growing team
    • A collaborative team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proven ability to develop content around sales process, product training and collateral, including video.
    • Understanding of sales pipeline, opportunity management, and forecasting cadence and process in a fast-paced startup environment.
    • Strong leadership; ability to lead and evolve the sales training program from scratch in a data-driven manner.



    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The work is a combination of mobile and sedentary type functions. Typically the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some movement from area to area, including transportation of items such as a laptop computer, and marketing materials, etc. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. Additionally, the employee is occasionally required to climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel or crouch.



    WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The incumbent will be expected to travel approximately 10%.
