    The Human Resources Administrator role will be tasked with recruiting, onboarding and various supporting tasks supporting Velocity Transport’s growth as a First Class Freight Brokerage.  Looking for a strategic, innovative professional who can lead from the front by being authentic, agile, connected and technologically bold in all areas of Human Resources.

    Responsibilities

    To perform this job successfully, a qualified individual must be able to satisfactorily perform the following essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation:  

    • Manage the internal recruitment process, including sourcing, scheduling interviews, keeping the interview process moving, helping with the offer process, handling post-hire check-ins, and everything in-between
    • Conducts the new hire process: including background checks, drug screens, and new hire in processing
    • Utilize the various candidate channels, including active sourcing, agencies, job advertisements, social media, other recruiting campaigns, etc.
    • Optimize job postings by working with hiring managers to develop effective and compelling job descriptions
    • Support day-to-day benefits administration and maintenance of employee benefit records in HRIS
    • Prioritize positive candidate and hiring manager experiences and relationships
    • Partners with team members and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations
    • Build an efficient and targeted candidate pipeline towards achieving our hiring goals
    • Maintain data integrity by accurately entering and updating information in iCIMS, our applicant tracking system
    • Prepare correspondence and reports, e.g., emails, memos, reports.
    • Partner with the leadership on various initiatives, including employment branding, summer internship programs, on-campus career fairs, etc.
    • Flexibility to work with various business units and build relationships across the company
    • Other duties related to the above that may be assigned as needed

    Qualifications

    The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, skills and/or abilities required for this position. An individual must meet the minimum requirements as listed.

     

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s with an emphasis in Human Resources or Supply Chain preferred, but not required

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    • ***Freight Brokerage, Transportation and/or Inside Sales experience is required***
    • Full-cycle corporate or agency recruiting experience, preferably in a high growth environment supporting multiple teams is preferred, but not required
    • Previous HR experience preferred, but not required

     

     

    SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Evidence of the ability to practice a high level of confidentiality
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The work is a combination of mobile and sedentary type functions. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some movement from area to area, including transportation of items such as a laptop computer, and marketing materials, etc. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. Additionally, the employee is occasionally required to climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel or crouch.

     

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The incumbent will be expected to travel approximately 10%.
